Lynn Crescione and Family, Innkeeper/Owners

Guests to Lynn Crescione’s Creekside Inn & Resort are always impressed by the warm hospitality and friendliness of the delightfully decorated eco-friendly accommodations set harmoniously among the redwoods and within walking distance of the Russian River. The inspiration behind those words belongs to the daily hands-on involvement of innkeeper/owner Crescione who has created a unique destination reminiscent of the pensiones of Europe in the Russian River wine region of Sonoma County.

Crescione’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley in psychology and experience working for a sociology professor have been influential in both her first career in banking and her second career as an innkeeper. After completing college, while raising two small children, Crescione and family embarked on a 9 month tour of Europe where she first fell in love with the bed and breakfast or pensione concept. After the children started school, she began her 9 year banking career where she rose to the position of chief financial officer of a foreign owned bank in San Francisco, before deciding to begin her second career as an innkeeper.

Attracted to the lower Russian River by the tolerance of the residents to diversity she found Creekside Inn & Resort almost 25 years ago. It was a property that reminded her of her sojourn in Europe. She used her experiences to create a resort that revels in its diverse appeal to a wide variety of visitors. Cottage or inn, budget or packed with guest amenities, full breakfast or full kitchen, family friendly or couples romance are all accommodation options that Crescione provides. The one consistency among the accommodations is that they all reflect Crescione’s deep commitment to ecology and promoting the sustainability of the beautiful natural environment that is their setting.

In 2005, she began a major expansion and rejuvenation on the property that will provide 14 more cottages and additional amenities to the inn.

It has always been important to me that Creekside Inn & Resort offer a friendly retreat among nature to all our guests but it is the family on vacation or quick weekend rejuvenator that I am always especially pleased to have at the inn. Family and family travel has always been important to me. I grew up in family that traveled for weeks every summer and I know how beneficial it is to be able to have these shared experiences of relaxation and fun,” says Crescione.

For the past twenty six, Crescione has been joined in running the inn by her two sons, Mark and Craig.  Mark’s background in forestry, viticulture and the culinary arts are valuable assets to running the resort as are Craig’s skills at restoration, maintenance and guest relations.
