Creekside Inn & Resort

Creekside Inn & Resort in Western Sonoma County’s Russian River recreation region is a unique blend of traditional 1930s bed and breakfast inn and modern-designed eco-friendly cottages, set less than two miles from the Armstrong Redwood State Reserve along the banks of the Russian River.

An eco-friendly destination, the inn and resort offer a range of accommodations, amenities and rates to visitors to the recreation area. Bordered on all sides by towering ancient redwoods that provide the serenity of a private retreat, the resort has been compared to a delightful tiny village. Four guest rooms and two suites in the country-style inn, 10 cozy cottages of varying sizes from studio to two-bedroom and the newly completed environmentally friendly one-bedroom apartments with living rooms, private decks, baths and kitchens make up the harmonious village.

Arguably a family-friendly inn, Creekside’s group facilities include an outdoor 40-foot resort swimming pool, perfect for working out or just splashing around, large outdoor patio with deck chairs and lounges, pool table, picnic area, barbecue facilities, video and DVD and board game lending library.  Creekside is the perfect “base” to explore the natural beauty of Western Sonoma County including Bodega Bay, Goat Rock, 57 miles of California State Parks along the Pacific Ocean, the Russian River and Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve.

The Village in a Resort in the Redwoods beside a River

Just as the inn itself combines the best in Old World European charm and modern day amenities, the décor of the inn rooms and suites are an artful combination of family heirloom antique furniture from Victorian and deco periods and stylish contemporary pieces. Guests tuck into cozy corners of the warmly lighted dining room and lounge on plush couches and loveseats before stone fireplace or bay window. They are surrounded by original artwork and select antiques. Or, guests can use the WiFi at the lovely Mission Oak table.

The one-and-two bedroom cottages provide a variety of sizes, room configurations, views and sleeping accommodations for guests to choose from. Fireplaces, private decks in sun or shade with nature views, in-suite washer and dryer, wheelchair access, dog-friendly, showers, tubs, one-or-two  bathrooms, dishwasher, and a variety of combinations of futon, trundle, twin, queen and king size beds are all available in one or more units. The cottages are designed to give a country lodge feeling of escape from everyday life. The liberal use of wood in furniture, wall hangings and ornaments, the warm lighting and a restful color palette from nature all combine to create a feeling of harmony in nature in the décor.

In the spring of 2007, Creekside will open their new eco-friendly one-bedroom apartments. The manufactured units were planned using the concepts of sustainable architecture, including considerations of size, solar energy, the use of renewable energy and water conservation. During the construction, the resort worked to protect the creek, remove harmful non-native plant vegetation and encourage the healthy growth of native plants in the area where the new cottages were constructed and throughout the resort grounds.  This is an ongoing process which reflects the values of the resort.

All of Creekside’s cottages feature individual climate control, direct dial telephones, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, and remote control satellite  television with HBO. WiFi access is available on the property.  Bath amenities include all-natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging. Accommodations for physically challenged guests are available.

Creekside’s Family and Recreation Packages

One of the longest continuously owned, family-run resorts in all of Sonoma County, Creekside Resort specializes in revealing the region’s distinct options for every age, agility and interest, often in the form of unique packages. A lively repertoire of year- round events and activities draws a steady flow of adventure-seekers to Creekside. The inn staff can help arrange naturalist guides, bike rentals, fly fishing permits, horseback rides, spa treatments, equipment rentals,  and dozens more outdoor adventures ranging from gentle to extreme.

Bird watching, family recreation, spa and “Canine Companion” are some of the innovative seasonal and ongoing packages available to assist guests in exploring the adventures of the area.

Everything is Green

Creekside Inn & Resort’s respect for its natural surroundings has evolved into a model of “green” operation. Water-saving bath fixtures in every room conserve the supply of natural resources.  On the housekeeping side, biodegradable laundry detergents minimize environmental impacts and the resort will gladly oblige resource-conscious guests who opt to forego daily linen changes in their rooms. The green efforts mean only non-toxic cleaning and gardening products, renewable energy wherever possible, reusable and recyclable guest amenities and water conservation throughout the resort.
